Professor Noa Vilchinsky

 

Director and Founder

 

Professor Noa Vilchinsky is the head of the Psycho-cardiology Research Lab in the Department of Psychology at Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel.  She is also a certified rehabilitation psychologist who worked for many years with individuals coping with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and cardiac illnesses. Her main fields of research are psycho-cardiology, dyadic coping with chronic illness, Caregiving in health challenges, attitudes toward people with disabilities, and the importance of being treated with dignity in the medical setting.  In 2004, she founded the Psycho-cardiology Research Laboratory at Meir Medical Center and has served as its director ever since, collaborating with her students on scientific work in her area of expertise. 

 

In 2016 Prof. Vilchinsky's co-authored the book: "Caregiving in the illness context".

 

In 2018, Prof. Vilchinsky and her colleagues from 5 European countries have received the prestigious HORIZON 20/20 funding for creating an Innovative Training Network for 15 doctoral students who will focus on developing innovative solutions for caregivers worldwide (ENTWINE). 

Prof. Vilchinsky is also the secretary of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS), and has recently received the EHPS fellow award.
